Job summary

Flexential is seeking a Data Center Technician II to provide hands-on physical and technical support in a 24x7 data center. You will monitor power, cooling, UPS, and site infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, and maintain accurate timekeeping and documentation for client installations and maintenance tasks.

This role requires strong communication, a proactive safety mindset, and the ability to escalate to engineering when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in a 24/7 production environment.
• Strong critical thinking skills.
• Proficient understanding of Windows and Microsoft operating systems.
• Knowledge of routing, subnets, and communication protocols.
• Experience with building management systems and power infrastructure.
• Knowledge of data center operations.
• 2–4 years in IT or data center support.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Familiarity with 568A/B cable standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Understanding of internal platforms and backup troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ownership and precision in auditing tasks and reporting findings.
• Support DCT I and DCT II through documentation, QA, and cross-team communication across systems like Power, OpsDB, ServiceNow.
• Act as a trusted resource and role model for best practices and process navigation.
• Maintain strong customer relationships; respond to calls and emails promptly and professionally.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and alarms; escalate to engineering as needed in a fast-paced data center.
