Job summary

Flexential is seeking a Data Center Technician II to provide physical and technical support for customers and resources in a 24/7 data center environment. You will understand facilities infrastructure, Windows OS, and data center operations while representing the company professionally to customers.

Responsibilities include auditing tasks, documentation, and coordinating with engineering on incidents, while maintaining security procedures, cabling standards, and shift flex for 24x7 operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in a 24/7 production environment.
• Strong critical thinking skills.
• Proficient understanding of Windows and Microsoft operating systems.
• Knowledge of routing, subnets, and networking protocols.
• Knowledge of data center operations and power systems (UPS, generators, HVAC, PDUs).
• 2-4 years IT or Data Center support experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Familiarity with 568A and B cabling standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Proficient understanding of internal platforms and standard backup troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ownership and precision in executing standard auditing tasks.
• Support documentation, report QA, and communication across systems (Power, OpsDB, ServiceNow).
• Act as a trusted resource and model best practices for tools and processes.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and respond promptly to inquiries.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and alarms, escalating to engineering as needed.
• Perform security sign-in/badging and enforce access control.
• Track time spent on tasks and submit timesheets timely.
• Follow Flexential Cabling Standards and escalate as needed.
• Serve as escalation resource for ServiceNow ticket analysis.
• Lead provisioning tasks and project responsibilities for upgrades.
• Support 24x7x365 operations with flexible shifts.
• Conduct site safety walkthroughs and assist emergency readiness.
