Job summary

QTS Realty Trust is seeking a Critical Operations Technician I to install, repair and maintain IT, electrical and mechanical equipment inside and around our 24x7 Virginia data centers. You will monitor building systems, perform preventive maintenance, process tickets, assist customers on the data center floor, and escalate issues to systems engineers for resolution.

This on-site role requires strong teamwork, safety discipline and proficiency with MS Office, with a focus on reliable, safe

Qualifications

• Two or more years of technical training or workplace equivalency.
• Background in IT, electrical and/or mechanical systems.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• Certifications such as A+/Network+ or BICSI Installer I preferred.
• Experience in a data center/NOC environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment and monitor readings.
• Provide remote hands and eyes services and assist customers on the data center floor.
• Install IT equipment, cabling and related infrastructure per provisioning docs.
• Process work orders for preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Create/update tickets for alerts and escalations; follow Change Management.
• Respond to building emergencies and adhere to safety policies.
