Job summary

QTS Data Centers in Virginia seeks a Critical Operations Technician I to install, repair, and maintain IT, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems across the data center. You will monitor building performance, run tests, and support customers on the floor both in person and by phone, escalating issues to engineers as needed.

This role requires on-site work in a 24x7 environment and is not eligible for remote work.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of technical training or workplace equivalency.
• Background in IT, electrical, and/or mechanical fields.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Applies learning, knowledge, and policies to IT/electrical/mechanical equipment, controls, and operating systems.
• Leads preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment; records readings and adjusts as needed.
• Provide remote hands and eyes services for customers.
• Provide high-level computer hardware and software configuration support; install materials per provisioning docs and procedures.
• Installs and repairs IT, mechanical, and electrical equipment; assists team with major repairs and maintenance.
• Process work orders for preventative and corrective maintenance; coordinate tools and equipment as required.
• Create or update tickets in the ticketing system for customer calls and site issues.
• Operate and monitor critical and non-critical system equipment for safe operation.
