Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking technology managers to lead data center operations teams across locations. You will mentor staff, sponsor projects, and propose technical solutions while coordinating hardware and network diagnostics and repairs.

The role includes travel to active sites, on-call responsibilities, and developing career paths for team members as part of an expanding infrastructure management effort.

Qualifications

• 4+ years IT experience or Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
• 2+ years of people management experience
• 2+ years of operations and on-call support for data center facilities, mission critical plants, or production facilities experience
• Certification in relevant fields like A+, Net+, Sec+, CCNA, LPIC, Linux+, AWS certification, Network+ or Security+ is preferred

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators
• Manage the performance of a diverse team of data center operation professionals across locations
• Develop career paths for employees and update internal tools
• Recruit and train data technicians to ensure staffing levels
• Manage day-to-day data center operations including queue management and 24/7 shift arrangement
• Be subject matter expert across all aspects in data center operations
• Measure and meet operational KPIs and metrics
• Lead process improvements, technology innovation and automation
• Manage large-scale events and act as call leader
• Oversee policies and procedures to meet SLAs
• Maintain on-call schedule and coordinate absences
• Strive to improve customer experience
