Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Data Center Electrical Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services team in Colorado. You will lead electrical design for mission-critical data center projects, mentor teammates, and collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors to deliver high-quality construction documents.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in electrical building design, PE license, and strong experience with NEC, UPS, power distribution, and coordination across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with Electrical emphasis.
• PE license recognized by licensing board (e.g., PE or P.Eng).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).
• Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting and signaling design, life safety, and building management systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design on data center/mission critical projects from start to finish.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and clients throughout project development.
• Develop feasibility reports, construction documents, specifications, and engineering calculations.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of construction documents and technical reports.
• Support design during construction with field observations and RFI responses.
• Travel to job sites or HDR offices as required.
