Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Data Center Electrical Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services team in Denver, Colorado. You will lead electrical design for mission-critical data center projects, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate with clients, PMs, architects, and multidisciplinary teams.

You will develop feasibility studies, construction documents, and specifications while ensuring compliance with NEC and industry standards. Travel to sites and HDR offices may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (Electrical emphasis) required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required/expected.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting, power, systems).
• Strong knowledge of building electrical power, lighting and life safety systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; familiarity with electrical design software.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and lead a team of Electrical Engineers, EITs, and BIM Specialists across projects.
• Coordinate with clients, project managers, architects, and other disciplines throughout project development.
• Develop feasibility reports, construction documents, specifications, and engineering calculations.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of construction documents and technical reports.
• Lead design meetings and provide design coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
