Job summary

ABB is seeking a Strategic Segment Proposal Engineer to develop technical and commercial proposals for ABB Electrification's focused industry segments, including data centers and critical facilities. The role requires collaboration with SAMs and senior management, travel up to a few times a year, and strong knowledge of ABB's product portfolio.

This remote US-based position contributes to ABB Electrification Smart Buildings in the United States, driving ITO processes and high-profitability

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college preferred.
Minimum 10 years of experience in the electrical distribution or related industry; minimum 5 years in sales and project quotations.
Deep technical knowledge of ABB electrical distribution product portfolio, general industry design characteristics, and configuration tools (ABB empower).
Experience with EPC, industrial, or data center end users on large scale projects with multiple work packages.
Experience working with global and local cross functional teams and interacting with senior management.
Ability to leverage electronic tools to stay organized and communicate remotely (e.g., Outlook, Salesforce, Teams).
Ability to travel up to 2-3 times a year.
Candidates must already have a work authorization to work in the US.

Responsibilities

Collaborating with SAMs and Strategic Customers to understand CTQ factors essential for growth.
Organizing and lead deal strategy and pricing discussions with internal stakeholders.
Contributing to development of innovative solutions by leveraging ABB portfolio and proposing cost-reducing options.
Evaluating project risk triggers to ensure alignment with ABB standards and coordinating with risk management.
