Job summary

ABB Inc. is seeking a Strategic Segment Proposal Engineer to develop technical and commercial proposals for data centers and critical manufacturing facilities in the US.

You will collaborate with Strategic Account Sales Managers to drive ITO processes, focusing on high-probability, high-profitability, and executable projects. This is a remote position with travel up to 2–3 times per year, reporting to Sales Support Manager within ABB Electrification Smart Buildings in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical distribution or related industry; Minimum 5 years of Sales and project quotations experience.
• Deep technical knowledge of ABB electrical distribution product portfolio, general industry design characteristics, and configuration tools (ABB empower).
• Experience with EPC, industrial, or data center end users on large-scale projects with multiple work packages.
• Experience working with global and local cross functional teams and interacting with senior management.
• Ability to leverage electronic tools to stay organized and communicate remotely (e.g., Microsoft Outlook, Salesforce, Teams).
• Ability to travel up to 2-3 times a year.
• Candidates must already have a work authorization to work for ABB in the US.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with SAMs and Strategic Customers to understand CTQ factors essential for growth.
• Organizing and lead deal strategy and pricing discussions with internal stakeholders.
• Contributing to development of innovative solutions leveraging ABB's portfolio.
• Evaluating project risk triggers to align with ABB standards and coordinating with the risk manager.
