Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Controls Engineer to troubleshoot, design, and manage BMS/EPMS systems across AWS data centers. You will develop new controls processes, create scope and LOE for projects, and support procurement and on-call activities.

The role requires strong engineering fundamentals, experience with industrial controls in critical environments, and the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced data center environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Master's degree preferred; PE or PMP certification a plus.
• 3+ years of experience with industrial controls in critical environments (data center, pharma, etc.).
• 2+ years of general project or vendor management experience (RFPs, bids, change orders, QCs).

Responsibilities

• Train and assist internal customers with BMS and EPMS systems—design, config, validation, installation, commissioning, operation.
• Provide technical support during life cycle of the data center; review maintenances and resolve items.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and LOE for BMS/EPMS initiatives.
• Manage scope, schedule, and finances of BMS/EPMS improvement projects in AWS data centers.
• Support procurement activities including RFx, vendor negotiations, PO issuance.
• Participate in on-call rotation to provide rapid BMS/EPMS support; report status to stakeholders.
• Review, troubleshoot, and iterate on SOO; provide feedback to design team.
• Develop and modify controls logic programming and GUIs.
• Coordinate multiple stakeholder deliverables and navigate challenging situations.
• Manage BMS/EPMS service contracts.
• Visit assigned data centers to troubleshoot and supervise vendor work.
