Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks a Data Center Controls Engineer to troubleshoot, manage projects and maintain BMS/EPMS across AWS data centers.

You will develop processes, manage scopes, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure reliability of critical power and environmental systems. The role requires a strong background in electrical and mechanical engineering, extensive controls experience, and ability to work on-site in Ashburn, VA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of controls experience in industrial environments (data center, etc.).
• 4+ years in project or vendor management related to construction and execution.
• 10+ years of controls experience in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Train and assist internal customers with BMS/EPMS design, configuration, validation, installation and operation.
• Provide technical support to operations during the data center lifecycle and review quarterly maintenance results.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets and LOE for BMS/EPMS initiatives.
• Manage scope, schedule, finance and execution of BMS/EPMS improvement projects.
• Assist procurement activities including RFPs and purchase orders.
• Participate in AWS on-call schedule for immediate BMS/EPMS support and report status to stakeholders.
• Support commissioning activities and iterate on SOO with the design team.
• Develop and modify control logic programming and GUIs.
• Manage multiple stakeholder deliverables and navigate complex situations.
• Financially manage BMS/EPMS service contracts.
• Visit in-operation data centers to troubleshoot and supervise vendors.
