Job summary

YMCA of Greater Brandywine is seeking candidates to plan, organize, and deliver value-driven skill development programs for participants in alignment with YMCA goals. This role emphasizes teaching, supervision of activities, and ensuring safety and compliance with program policies.

Qualifications include at least 18 years old, a high school diploma or GED, and 1 year of teaching or instructional experience. Training and certifications must be completed within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

  • 18 years of age with high school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1-year prior teaching or instructional experience.
  • Training and qualifications in the specialized instruction area.
  • Demonstrate ability to develop and teach skills.
  • Ability to effectively use technology for programmatic needs.
  • Obtain and maintain all new hires certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes and leads specific activities, routines and/or games for all participants.
  • Leads with enthusiasm and positive motivation in program.
  • Organizes and maintains program records including attendance and rosters.
  • Manages all equipment.
  • Maintains a clean and risk-free environment.
  • Communicates effectively and timely with program participants and parents.
  • Ensures all children are picked up by a parent.
  • Promotes other YMCA programs by handing out brochures or referrals.
  • Ensures compliance with all policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
