Job summary

YMCA of Greater Brandywine is seeking staff to plan, organize and deliver value-driven skill development programs for participants at Upper Main Line YMCA, Berwyn, PA. The role emphasizes enthusiastic instruction, safety, and clear communication with families.

Requirements include 18+ with a high school diploma or GED, and at least 1 year of teaching or instructional experience. Availability on Fridays and evenings is preferred, with full-time benefits and YMCA perks offered.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or GED.
  • Prior teaching or instructional experience preferred (1 year).
  • Ability to develop and teach skills to participants.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes and leads activities, routines and/or games for all participants.
  • Leads with enthusiasm and positive motivation in program.
  • Maintains program records including attendance and rosters.
  • Manages all equipment and ensures a safe environment.
  • Communicates effectively with participants and parents.
  • Ensures children are picked up by a parent or guardian.
  • Promotes YMCA programs by sharing information and referrals.
  • Adheres to all YMCA policies and procedures.

What You’ll Do
  • Plans, organizes and leads specific activities, routines and/or games for all participants.
  • Leads with enthusiasm and positive motivation in program.
  • Organizes and maintains program records including, but not limited to attendance records, rosters, etc
  • Manages all equipment.
  • Maintains a clean and risk-free environment.
  • Communicates effectively and timely with program participants and parents.
  • Ensures all children are picked up by a parent.
  • Promotes other YMCA programs by handing out brochures, answering questions, or referral to appropriate person.
  • Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 18 years of age with high school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1-year prior teaching or instructional experience
  • Training and qualifications in the specialized instruction area
  • Demonstrate ability to develop and teach skills
  • Ability to effectively use technology for programmatic needs
  • Obtain and maintain all new hires certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
  • Friday Night Availability (6:30pm - 8:30pm)
