Job summary

Technologent is seeking an IT Security Pre-Sales Engineer in Phoenix. You will partner with the sales team to map customer cybersecurity needs to practical, scalable solutions, leading discovery and architecture discussions from qualification through to close.

You will work with security teams and executives to translate business risks into technical recommendations, support PoCs, and craft compelling demonstrations across SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, IAM/PAM and Zero Trust offerings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred.
• 5+ years of cybersecurity engineering, security architecture, pre-sales, or related customer-facing role.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CompTIA Security+ or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted cybersecurity advisor with Account Execs to identify initiatives, requirements, risks, and opportunities.
• Lead customer discovery, workshops, and architecture discussions; translate needs into solution recommendations.
• Engage stakeholders from engineering to IT leadership; communicate technical concepts and business value clearly.
• Support strategy, technical presentations, demos, RFP responses, and customer objections.
• Support PoCs and proof-of-value activities; communicate status, risks, and next steps to sales.
• Design scalable security architectures across SIEM/SOAR, EDR/XDR, IAM/PAM, Zero Trust, cloud and data protection.
• Develop high-level architectures, BOMs, licensing, and proposal scope; define deliverables and exclusions.
• Ensure feasibility and smooth transition to implementation; collaborate with delivery teams on scope and commitments.
• Advise on security roadmaps, gaps, modernization, compliance, and governance implications.
• Coordinate with manufacturers and partners on workshops, demos, licensing, and pricing.
