Job summary

Technologent is seeking an IT Security Pre-Sales Engineer in Houston to identify cybersecurity needs and shape practical, scalable solutions. You will partner with the sales team to connect security requirements with technology offerings, lead discovery, and support opportunities from qualification to close.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise technology sales and working directly with Account Executives and customers.
• Broad knowledge of enterprise cybersecurity architecture, technologies, and operational practices.
• Strong understanding of security technologies such as SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, IAM, PAM, Zero Trust, network security.
• Understanding of enterprise infrastructure, networking, cloud platforms, identity systems, data architectures.
• Experience leading customer discovery and translating requirements into technical architectures and recommendations.
• Experience supporting customer presentations, demonstrations, workshops, or RFP responses.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards (NIST CSF, CIS Controls, ISO 27001, Zero Trust).
• Experience with cybersecurity manufacturers; reseller/system integrator experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted cybersecurity advisor and partner with Account Executives to identify initiatives, risks, and opportunities.
• Lead discovery, assessments, workshops, and architecture discussions; translate needs into recommendations.
• Engage stakeholders from security engineering to IT leadership; communicate concepts and business value.
• Support strategy, technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and RFP/RFI responses.
• Support PoC/PoV activities, technical validation, and competitive sales; report statuses and risks.
• Design high-level architectures and BOMs; define scope, deliverables, and exclusions.
• Ensure feasibility of solutions and hand-off to delivery teams for implementation and support.
• Advise on security roadmaps, gaps, modernization, risk, and governance; consider people/processes.
