Job summary

Maersk is seeking a CHB Operations Associate in Charlotte, NC to own daily customs brokerage operations for a dedicated portfolio of accounts, coordinating with customers, carriers, government agencies, and internal teams to ensure compliant, timely imports. You will respond to inquiries, file U.S.

Customs entries and PGA filings, manage entry files, track shipments, maintain SOPs, and support cross-functional partners to improve service levels and operational efficiency, while handling billing

Qualifications

• 6–12 months of customs brokerage or related industry experience.
• At least 2 years in a CHB or operational support environment preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working under pressure.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent work experience).
• Customs House Broker License preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of daily customs brokerage operations for assigned customers.
• Serve as a trusted point of contact for customers, responding to questions and providing timely shipment updates.
• Prepare and process U.S. Customs entries and PGA filings, ensuring full regulatory compliance.
• Open and manage entry files in alignment with KPIs and service standards.
• Coordinate shipment clearance with freight forwarders, steamship lines, and CFS for timely release.
• Track and trace inbound shipments from port or airport through final delivery.
• Ensure all required documentation and entry packages are uploaded into operating systems.
• Complete customer billing, delivery orders, and required operational reports.
• Maintain and update customer SOPs as needed.
• Collaborate with teammates and cross-functional partners for coverage and peak-volume needs.
