Job summary

Maersk is seeking a CHB Operations Associate in Florham Park, NJ, to manage end-to-end customs brokerage operations for assigned accounts. You will serve as the primary contact for customers, coordinate with carriers and government agencies, and ensure shipments move compliantly and on time.

You will own daily processes, open and manage entry files, prepare U.S. Customs entries, and maintain SOPs while collaborating with cross-functional teams to cover peak periods.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months of customs brokerage or related industry experience.
• At least 2 years in a CHB or operational support environment preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working under pressure.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Team‑focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Customs House Broker License preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of daily customs brokerage operations for assigned customers.
• Serve as a trusted point of contact for customers and provide timely shipment updates.
• Prepare and process U.S. Customs entries and PGA filings, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Open and manage entry files in alignment with KPIs and service standards.
• Coordinate shipment clearance with freight forwarders, lines, and CFS to ensure timely release.
• Track and trace inbound shipments from port or airport through final delivery.
• Ensure required documentation is uploaded into operating systems.
• Complete customer billing, delivery orders, and required operational reports.
• Maintain and update customer SOPs as needed.
• Collaborate with teammates to support coverage and peak‑volume needs
