Job summary

A.P. Moller - Maersk in the United States is seeking a CHB Operations Associate who will manage end‑to‑end customs brokerage operations for a dedicated portfolio, ensuring imports are compliant, on time, and delivered to customers.

You will own daily operations, coordinate with carriers, government agencies, and internal teams, maintain SOPs, and support peak‑volume needs. A background in customs brokerage, strong communication, and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months of customs brokerage or related industry experience.
• At least 2 years in a CHB or operational support environment preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working under pressure.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Team‑focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent work experience).
• Customs House Broker License preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Own daily customs brokerage operations for assigned customers.
• Serve as a trusted point of contact for customers, responding to questions and providing timely, accurate shipment updates.
• Prepare and process U.S. Customs entries and PGA filings, ensuring full regulatory compliance.
• Open and manage entry files in alignment with defined KPIs and service standards.
• Coordinate shipment clearance with freight forwarders, steamship lines, airlines, and CFS to ensure timely release.
• Track and trace inbound shipments from port or airport through final delivery.
• Ensure all required documentation and entry packages are uploaded into operating systems.
• Complete customer billing, delivery orders, and required operational reports.
• Maintain and update customer SOPs as needed.
• Collaborate with teammates and cross‑functional partners for coverage and peak‑volume support.
