Job summary

Maersk is seeking a CHB Operations Associate in Florham Park, NJ to manage end-to-end customs brokerage operations for a dedicated portfolio of accounts. You will collaborate with customers, carriers, government agencies, and internal teams to ensure shipments comply with regulations and move on time.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, fast-paced work, and building expertise in customs brokerage while delivering exceptional customer service and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months of customs brokerage or related industry experience.
• At least 2 years in a CHB or operational support environment preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working under pressure.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Team‑focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent work experience)
• Customs House Broker License preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer questions with timely, accurate shipment updates.
• Prepare and process U.S. Customs entries and PGA filings with compliance.
• Open and manage entry files aligned with KPIs and service standards.
• Coordinate clearance with forwarders, lines, airlines, and CFS for timely release.
• Track inbound shipments from port/airport to final delivery.
• Upload required documentation into operating systems accurately.
• Assist with customer billing, delivery orders, and reports.
• Update SOPs as needed.
• Collaborate with teammates and cross‑functional partners for coverage and peak periods.
