Job summary

Vallen is seeking a Customer Service Representative (CSR) who will work at a customer location to provide exceptional service by purchasing products, goods, and materials that meet our standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply.

Essential duties include placing requisitions and POs, evaluating vendors, monitoring delivery, resolving issues with suppliers, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and partners. Ongoing training and growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1+ years in procurement preferred.
• Excellent customer service.
• Computer skills and aptitude to learn ERP and Inventory Management applications.
• Self-starter able to work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency with MS-Office products.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Perform procurement activities to ensure customer demand for products and materials is met and aligned with Vallen's purchasing strategies.
• Place purchase requisitions and vendor purchase orders.
• Research, assess, and select vendors and items to meet specifications, pricing, and delivery standards.
• Monitor quality and timeliness of products; coordinate returns or replacements as needed.
• Follow up on purchase orders with vendors and communicate status to customers.
• Communicate with vendors to resolve issues with timeliness and quality.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and customers.
• Research and resolve account payables nonconformance with suppliers.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Follow all Vallen SOPs and maintain a professional worksite.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
