Job summary

Motion Industries in Ruston, LA seeks a Customer Service Representative to fulfill orders accurately and handle inbound calls under supervision. You will quote products, enter orders, and work to maintain strong customer relationships.

You will coordinate with account managers, assess shipping methods, and monitor inventory to support on-time delivery while upholding company standards and profitability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0–3 years related experience.
• Ability to learn company products and systems.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Reliability and attention to detail essential.

Responsibilities

• Responds to basic customer inquiries regarding products, provides quotes, and handles order entry.
• Places customer orders via telephone, fax, email, electronic methods, or walk in (counter sales).
• Influences gross profit by negotiating sale and purchase prices within set parameters.
• May adjust non-contract pricing to meet customer demands while maximizing profit for Motion Industries.
• Builds customer relationships to drive repeat business and improve processes.
• Orders items to maintain appropriate inventory levels for customers.
• May place orders up to $5,000 per line and $10,000 per purchase order without approval.
• Sourcing products in branch, DC, or supplier inventories.
• Determines cost-effective shipping methods for orders.
• Partners with Account Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Expedites backorders.
• May pull inventory and prepare orders for shipment.
• May handle customer returns.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
