Job summary

PagerDuty seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer (SRE Agent) to work on-site with strategic customers, deploying the SRE Agent and guiding AI-assisted to autonomous operations. You will build reusable agent tools and integrate with IaC, GitOps, and CI/CD pipelines, shaping the future of agentic AI within key accounts.

The role requires 8+ years of production software experience, hands-on LLM/agent work, and strong customer-facing skills. Hybrid work model; travel 25–50% is expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building and shipping production software across team boundaries.
• Hands-on experience with LLM and agent systems in production.
• Customer-facing skills to run a technical design session with a customer’s engineers.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and delivering working software in new environments.
• A track record of shipping software that gets adopted.
• Infrastructure & Deployment experience with Terraform or Pulumi, GitOps, CI/CD and progressive delivery.
• Willingness to travel 25–50% during active engagements.

Responsibilities

• Embed and drive SRE Agent adoption: work onsite with 2–4 strategic customer teams to deploy the SRE Agent and embed AI actions across incidents.
• Build and contribute core agent capabilities: scope, design, and ship reusable agent tools and connectors.
• Run pilots and unblock customer adoption: stand up new agentic capabilities, gather eval data, fix blockers.
• Integrate with production stacks and progressive delivery: connect to IaC, GitOps, CI/CD pipelines, and observability.
• Set technical direction and feedback: define 3–6 month roadmaps and share customer insights with the core team.
