Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an Area Leader to drive team engagement and development across the span of care. You will guide Lead and Team Leader performance, support onboarding, coaching and feedback, and ensure successful execution of store operations and growth initiatives.

You will analyze financial results, forecast staffing, and implement process improvements while upholding Meijer’s culture. The role emphasizes safety, inclusion, and serving customers and communities with consistent service

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly with team members and leaders.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information for decision making.
• Commitment to safety and inclusive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training and coaching for success.
• Identifies talent and supports staffing strategies across the store.
• Holds leaders accountable for standards, growth, and performance.
• Oversees area operations and financial results, including budgeting and forecasting.
• Drives safety, compliance and store condition management.
• Guides daily work assignments and training across teams.
