Job summary

CarMax is hiring a Customer Specialist in Training at our Amherst, NY location. You will guide customers through buying, selling, or servicing vehicles, support appraisals, paperwork, and service coordination.

Expect hands-on learning in a fast-paced environment with a strong emphasis on honesty and integrity. You’ll handle customer interactions, ensure accurate documentation, and collaborate across teams to deliver a smooth, customer‑focused experience while following EH&S guidelines and CarMax

Qualifications

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills to represent CarMax.
• Ability to balance customer needs with business processes and deadlines.
• Integrity, teamwork and a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Guide customers through sales, appraisals, test drives, and financing applications.
• Conduct vehicle condition assessments and document appraisal details.
• Manage vehicle check-in, scanning, and inventory reconciliation.
• Perform cosmetic inspections to meet CarMax Quality Standards.
• Handle administrative tasks, paperwork, and payments accurately.
• Coordinate service appointments and review repair orders with teams.
• Maintain EH&S requirements and a clean, organized workspace.
