Job summary

CarMax is hiring a Customer Specialist to deliver a trusted, customer-first experience throughout the car-buying and selling journey. You will guide customers through appraisals, test drives, paperwork, and service coordination with autonomy and teamwork.

This role emphasizes honesty, efficiency, and cross-team collaboration. You will balance daily tasks, maintain accurate records, and uphold CarMax standards while helping customers feel informed and valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and transcribe data accurately.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Guide customers through sales, appraisals, test drives and financing applications.
• Conduct vehicle condition assessments and document appraisal notes.
• Manage inventory processes including check-in, scanning and reconciliation.
• Perform cosmetic inspections to meet CarMax Quality Standards.
• Handle administrative tasks: print reports, paperwork, auditing and payments.
• Coordinate service appointments and review repair invoices for accuracy.
• Follow EH&S requirements and keep a clean, safe work area.
