Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Customer Specialist to deliver a customer-first experience across the car-buying journey, from appraisals to paperwork. You’ll guide customers, conduct vehicle inspections, and coordinate service orders in a dynamic team environment.

You’ll build trust through clear communication, handle multiple tasks with accuracy, and ensure a transparent, honest process aligned with CarMax values and EH&S requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and meet deadlines.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and correctly read/transcribe data.
• Teamwork and integrity in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Guide customers through sales, appraisals, test drives, and financing apps.
• Conduct vehicle condition assessments and document for appraisals.
• Manage inventory processes: check-in, scanning, reconciliation.
• Perform cosmetic inspections to meet CarMax Quality Standards.
• Handle administrative tasks: reports, paperwork, billing reviews.
• Coordinate service appointments and review repair invoices for accuracy.
• Follow EH&S requirements and maintain a clean work area.
