Mission
The mission of the Programing & Software Development Career and Technical Education (CTE) Curriculum Manager is to manage and support the successful implementation of the CTE curriculum at IDEA Public Schools. The Curriculum Manager will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive, research-based, standards-aligned, and user-friendly curriculum. The Curriculum Manager will execute a curriculum implementation support system to drive teacher effectiveness and student success. The Curriculum Manager will support, monitor, and evaluate curriculum implementation by: conducting site visits; providing feedback related to the delivery of the curriculum to relevant stakeholders; designing and facilitating professional development; seeking feedback on the curriculum; and reporting on student progress and achievement.

Mission
The mission of the Programing & Software Development Career and Technical Education (CTE) Curriculum Manager is to manage and support the successful implementation of the CTE curriculum at IDEA Public Schools. The Curriculum Manager will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive, research-based, standards-aligned, and user-friendly curriculum. The Curriculum Manager will execute a curriculum implementation support system to drive teacher effectiveness and student success. The Curriculum Manager will support, monitor, and evaluate curriculum implementation by: conducting site visits; providing feedback related to the delivery of the curriculum to relevant stakeholders; designing and facilitating professional development; seeking feedback on the curriculum; and reporting on student progress and achievement.

Location:
This is a full-time position based in Texas with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or who are willing to relocate.
Travel Expectations
While this is a remote position, there will be in-person meetings and events. Traveling to visit campuses will also be an expectation in this role. Candidates may be required to travel up to 30% during the busiest times of the year.
Essential Duties
What You’ll Do – Accountabilities
- Create, revise, and refine a suite of curriculum products, including scope and sequences and instructional resources so that the district achieves established student achievement goals.
- Design and post complete curriculum materials according to deadlines
- For courses using high-quality instructional materials: aligning the instructional materials to the state/national standards, creating a scope and sequence, providing clear articulation between the program and required course content
- For curriculum & instructional materials developed internally: Create instructional products including teacher facing resources (such as: scope and sequence, lesson plans, instructional notes, etc.) and daily student facing materials that ensure alignment to state/national standards and provide a rigorous academic experience for all IDEA students
- Design & develop reliable, aligned assessments and supporting documents by curricular material deadlines and upload to the appropriate testing platform(s) for administration.
- Design, create, and deliver high-quality, standards aligned summative and formative assessments that are posted in the appropriate testing platform and accessible by the assigned deadlines
- Develop tools to provide perspective on assessment data for applicable stakeholders to inform instruction
- Conduct assessment data analyses to provide curricular and instructional direction for teachers, campus leaders, and district leaders
- For content areas/regions where course leaders are part of the teacher support system, CMs will be responsible for providing support, management, and coaching for any Course Leaders to design and deliver district trainings to improve all teachers’ instructional practices
- Recruit and develop Course Leaders for managed content areas
- Mentor and coach Course Leaders for required course leader activities and manage Course Leader in compliance with their role requirements
- Provide Course Leader specific training starting in the summer and to continue throughout the school year; which may include training sessions outside of business hours
- Coach Course Leaders on effective professional development planning and facilitation
- Design ongoing quality professional development sessions aimed at improving instructional practices and ensure facilitators are prepared to deliver sessions
- Design district-wide program trainings to build awareness of initiatives, state requirements, or other pertinent updates and best practices
- Support the creation of professional development schedules and training logistics and ensure session accessibility in appropriate IDEA training platform
- Lead content or grade level professional development training as defined by the needs of content/region identified by the organization (such as: summer content trainings; teacher trainings throughout the school year)
- Analyze student achievement results, identify trends and recommend adjustments, to support curriculum implementation efficacy, increase student performance, and meet achievement goals
- Analyze and share student achievement data, professional development participation and feedback, and teacher observation data with various stakeholders.
- Conduct regular campus observations with team members and school leaders to provide explicit feedback and next steps on curriculum implementation based on teacher PD and observation data
- Work on a distributed team where much of the work is completed remotely.
- Lead, attend and actively participate in weekly team meetings and monthly strategy meetings
- Provide feedback to colleagues and work collaboratively with other members of the Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment team members of the larger Academic Services Team, and across multi-functioning HQ teams
- Travel outside of region of residence for site visits and collaborative team workshops
- Conduct regular campus observations within the region of residence to inform decision making

Knowledge and Skills – Competencies
- Curriculum Design: Proficiency in the elements and processes of curriculum design and development, enabling the creation of comprehensive, research-based, and user-friendly educational materials.
- Knowledge of State Standards: Possess a deep understanding of state and national educational standards to ensure curriculum alignment and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of Assessments: Familiarity with any content/grade level specific assessments allowing for effective curriculum design and assessment preparation tailored to specific testing requirements.
- Research Expertise: Stay informed about content-area best practices through ongoing research, incorporating the research-based pedagogical approaches and methodologies into curriculum design and development.
- Organizational and Communication Skills: Exceptional organizational skills to manage curriculum development processes efficiently. Strong communication skills to convey ideas, instructions, and expectations clearly and effectively.

Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree or advanced degree preferred Strong Knowledge/Expertise in content area/grade and relevant assessments
- Educator Certification Required
- A minimum of five years teaching experience in the relevant content area
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite; educational technology, learning management systems, or specific software related to curriculum design
Preferred Experience
- A strong record of student achievement results as a teacher and/or school leader/district administrator
- A strong record of results as a curriculum writer or developer
- Experience designing system-wide assessments and curriculum products in the relevant content area
- Experience facilitating/designing professional development for educators
- Leadership Experience, particularly in managing teams or projects related to curriculum development
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit at a desk for prolonged amounts of time
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds at times
- Ability to complete periodic travel required for meetings, classroom observations, trainings and conferences

Compensation & Benefits:
Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $81,800 and $95,800, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
