Curriculum Manager

Mission :

The mission of the Programming & Software Development Career and Technical Education (CTE) Curriculum Manager is to manage and support the successful implementation of the CTE curriculum at IDEA Public Schools. The Curriculum Manager will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive, research-based, standards-aligned, and user-friendly curriculum. They will execute a curriculum implementation support system to drive teacher effectiveness and student success, including conducting site visits, providing feedback, designing professional development, and reporting on student progress.

Location:

This is a full-time position based in Texas, with preferences for candidates in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or those willing to relocate.

Travel Expectations:

While primarily remote, this role requires in-person meetings, campus visits, and travel up to 30% during peak times.

What You’ll Do – Accountabilities
Essential Duties:
  1. Create and refine curriculum products aligned with student achievement goals.
  2. Design and post curriculum materials according to deadlines.
  3. Align instructional materials with standards and create scope and sequence.
  4. Develop teacher resources and student materials ensuring standards alignment and academic rigor.
  5. Design assessments and supporting documents, upload to testing platforms.
  6. Develop tools and analyze assessment data to inform instruction.
  7. Support, manage, and coach Course Leaders, including recruitment and professional development.
  8. Lead professional development sessions and district-wide trainings.
  9. Analyze student achievement data and observe classrooms to provide feedback.
  10. Participate in team meetings and collaborate across teams.
  11. Travel for site visits and workshops as needed.

Knowledge and Skills – Competencies
  1. Curriculum Design: Proficiency in curriculum creation and development.
  2. Knowledge of State Standards and Assessments.
  3. Research Skills: Incorporating pedagogical research into curriculum design.
  4. Organizational and Communication Skills.
  5. Interpersonal Skills: Collaboration and respectful communication.
Required experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • Strong content area expertise and relevant assessments knowledge.
  • Educator certification required.
  • Minimum five years of relevant teaching experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and educational technology.
Preferred experience:
  • Proven student achievement results.
  • Experience as a curriculum writer or developer.
  • Experience designing assessments and professional development.
  • Leadership experience managing teams or projects.
Physical Requirements:
  • Sitting for extended periods.
  • Lifting up to 20 pounds.
  • Travel for meetings and observations.
What We Offer:

Salary range between $81,800 and $95,800, commensurate with experience, plus performance pay.
