Curriculum Manager

Mission:

The mission of the Middle School Career and Technical Education (CTE) Curriculum Manager is to manage and support the successful implementation of the CTE curriculum at IDEA Public Schools. The Curriculum Manager will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive, research-based, standards-aligned, and user-friendly curriculum. The role involves executing a curriculum implementation support system to enhance teacher effectiveness and student success. Responsibilities include conducting site visits, providing feedback on curriculum delivery, designing and facilitating professional development, seeking feedback, and reporting on student progress and achievement.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Location:

This is a full-time position based in Texas, with preference for candidates residing in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or those willing to relocate.

Travel Expectations:

While primarily remote, the role requires in-person meetings and campus visits. Travel up to 30% may be required during peak times.

What You'll Do – Accountabilities:

Essential Duties:

  1. Create, revise, and refine curriculum products to meet student achievement goals.
  2. Design and post curriculum materials according to deadlines.
  3. Align instructional materials with standards and create scope and sequence for courses using high-quality materials.
  4. Develop teacher-facing resources and student-facing materials ensuring standards alignment and academic rigor.
  5. Design and upload assessments and supporting documents to testing platforms by deadlines.
  6. Develop assessment data tools and analyze data to inform instruction.
  7. Support, manage, and coach Course Leaders in content areas, including training and professional development.
  8. Recruit and mentor Course Leaders, providing ongoing support and training.
  9. Lead professional development sessions and coordinate training logistics.
  10. Analyze student achievement data, identify trends, and recommend curriculum adjustments.
  11. Conduct campus observations and provide feedback on curriculum implementation.
  12. Participate actively in team meetings and collaborate across teams.
  13. Travel for site visits and team workshops as needed.
Additional Duties:

Knowledge and Skills – Competencies:

  • Proficiency in curriculum design, standards alignment, and assessment development.
  • Deep understanding of state and national standards.
  • Research-based pedagogical approaches.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or advanced degree preferred.
  • Certification in relevant content area and at least five years of teaching experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and educational technology.

Preferred Experience:

  • Strong record of student achievement and curriculum development.
  • Experience designing assessments and professional development.
  • Leadership experience in curriculum projects.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Travel as required for meetings, observations, and conferences.

What We Offer:
