Job description

Curriculum Manager

Mission:

The mission of the Middle School Career and Technical Education (CTE) Curriculum Manager is to manage and support the successful implementation of the CTE curriculum at IDEA Public Schools. The Curriculum Manager will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive, research-based, standards-aligned, and user-friendly curriculum. The Curriculum Manager will execute a curriculum implementation support system to drive teacher effectiveness and student success. Responsibilities include conducting site visits, providing feedback to stakeholders, designing and facilitating professional development, seeking feedback on the curriculum, and reporting on student progress and achievement.

Location:

This is a full-time position based in Texas with a preference for candidates residing in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or those willing to relocate.

Travel Expectations:

While this is a remote position, in-person meetings, events, and campus visits are expected. Travel up to 30% may be required during peak times.

What You’ll Do – Accountabilities:

Essential Duties:

  1. Create, revise, and refine curriculum products, including scope and sequences and instructional resources, to meet student achievement goals.
  2. Design and post curriculum materials according to deadlines.
  3. Align instructional materials to standards, creating scope and sequence, and ensuring clear articulation between program and course content.
  4. Develop teacher-facing resources and student-facing materials that align with standards and provide a rigorous academic experience.
  5. Design, develop, and upload assessments and supporting documents by deadlines.
  6. Create tools for assessment data analysis to inform instruction.
  7. Conduct data analyses to guide curricular and instructional decisions.
  8. Support, manage, and coach Course Leaders in curriculum delivery and professional development.
  9. Recruit, develop, and mentor Course Leaders.
  10. Provide ongoing training and coaching for Course Leaders and teachers.
  11. Lead district-wide professional development sessions and analyze student achievement data to inform improvements.
  12. Conduct campus observations and provide feedback on curriculum implementation.
  13. Participate actively in team meetings and collaborate across teams.
  14. Travel for site visits and workshops as needed.
Additional Duties:

Knowledge and Skills – Competencies:

  • Proficiency in curriculum design, standards alignment, and assessment development.
  • Deep understanding of state and national standards.
  • Research-based pedagogical knowledge.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or advanced degree preferred.
  • Certification in education required.
  • Minimum of five years teaching experience in relevant content area.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and educational technology.

Preferred Experience:

  • Strong record of student achievement and curriculum development.
  • Experience designing assessments and professional development.
  • Leadership experience in curriculum projects.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for long periods, lift up to 20 pounds, and travel as required.
