Curriculum Manager

Mission :

The mission of the Middle School Career and Technical Education (CTE) Curriculum Manager is to manage and support the successful implementation of the CTE curriculum at IDEA Public Schools. The Curriculum Manager will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive, research-based, standards-aligned, and user-friendly curriculum. The Curriculum Manager will execute a curriculum implementation support system to drive teacher effectiveness and student success. The Curriculum Manager will support, monitor, and evaluate curriculum implementation by: conducting site visits; providing feedback related to the delivery of the curriculum to relevant stakeholders; designing and facilitating professional development; seeking feedback on the curriculum; and reporting on student progress and achievement.

Location:

This is a full-time position based in Texas with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or who are willing to relocate.

Travel Expectations:

While this is a remote position, there will be in-person meetings and events. Traveling to visit campuses will also be an expectation in this role. Candidates may be required to travel up to 30% during the busiest times of the year.

What You’ll Do – Accountabilities

Essential Duties:

  1. Create, revise, and refine a suite of curriculum products, including scope and sequences and instructional resources so that the district achieves established student achievement goals.
  2. Design and post complete curriculum materials according to deadlines.
  3. Align instructional materials to state/national standards, creating scope and sequence, and ensuring clear articulation between the program and required course content, for courses using high-quality instructional materials.
  4. Develop instructional products including teacher-facing resources (such as scope and sequence, lesson plans, instructional notes) and student-facing materials that ensure alignment to standards and provide a rigorous academic experience.
  5. Design & develop assessments and supporting documents by curricular deadlines and upload to testing platforms.
  6. Create and deliver high-quality, standards-aligned assessments, and ensure they are posted and accessible by deadlines.
  7. Develop tools for assessment data analysis to inform instruction.
  8. Conduct assessment data analyses to guide curricular and instructional decisions.
  9. Support, manage, and coach Course Leaders to improve instructional practices and deliver district trainings.
  10. Recruit and develop Course Leaders for content areas.
  11. Mentor Course Leaders and provide ongoing training, including outside of regular hours if necessary.
  12. Coach Course Leaders on professional development planning and facilitation.
  13. Design and deliver district-wide professional development sessions and training schedules.
  14. Lead content or grade level professional development based on organizational needs.
  15. Analyze student achievement data, identify trends, and recommend adjustments to support curriculum efficacy and student performance.
  16. Share insights from data, feedback, and observations with stakeholders.
  17. Conduct campus observations and provide feedback on curriculum implementation.
  18. Work remotely and participate in team meetings regularly.
  19. Collaborate with team members and other departments, providing feedback and support.
  20. Travel outside the region for site visits and workshops as needed.

Additional Duties:

Knowledge and Skills – Competencies

  • Curriculum Design: Proficiency in curriculum development, research-based practices, and creating user-friendly materials.
  • Knowledge of State Standards: Deep understanding of educational standards for compliance and alignment.
  • Knowledge of Assessments: Familiarity with assessments relevant to content and grade levels.
  • Research Expertise: Incorporate current pedagogical research into curriculum design.
  • Organizational and Communication Skills: Strong skills in managing processes and conveying ideas clearly.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work well with others, demonstrating respect and tact.

Required experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of content area and assessments.
  • Educator Certification required.
  • Minimum of five years teaching experience in relevant content area.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and educational technology tools.

Preferred experience:

  • Proven student achievement results as a teacher or leader.
  • Experience as a curriculum writer or developer.
  • Experience designing assessments and curriculum products.
  • Facilitating professional development for educators.
  • Leadership experience in curriculum management or related projects.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Lifting up to 20 pounds.
  • Travel for meetings, observations, and trainings.

What We Offer:

Compensation & Benefits: Salaries typically range from $81,800 to $95,800, based on experience and qualifications, with performance pay eligibility.
