Job description

Curriculum Manager

Mission:

The mission of the Programming & Software Development Career and Technical Education (CTE) Curriculum Manager is to manage and support the successful implementation of the CTE curriculum at IDEA Public Schools. The Curriculum Manager will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive, research-based, standards-aligned, and user-friendly curriculum. The Curriculum Manager will execute a curriculum implementation support system to drive teacher effectiveness and student success. Responsibilities include conducting site visits, providing feedback, designing professional development, seeking feedback on the curriculum, and reporting on student progress and achievement.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Location:

This is a full-time position based in Texas, with preferences for candidates in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or those willing to relocate.

Travel Expectations:

While primarily remote, in-person meetings and campus visits are expected. Travel up to 30% may be required during peak times.

What You’ll Do – Accountabilities

Essential Duties:

  1. Create, revise, and refine curriculum products to meet student achievement goals.
  2. Design and post curriculum materials according to deadlines.
  3. Align instructional materials with standards, creating scope and sequence and ensuring clear articulation.
  4. Develop teacher-facing resources and student materials that ensure standards alignment and academic rigor.
  5. Design and develop assessments and supporting documents, and upload them for administration.
  6. Create tools to analyze assessment data to inform instruction.
  7. Conduct assessment data analyses to guide curricular and instructional decisions.
  8. Support, manage, and coach Course Leaders, including training and professional development.
  9. Lead district-wide professional development sessions and create schedules and logistics for training.
  10. Analyze student achievement data, identify trends, and recommend adjustments.
  11. Conduct campus observations and provide feedback on curriculum implementation.
  12. Participate in team meetings and collaborate across teams.
  13. Travel for site visits and workshops as needed.

Knowledge and Skills – Competencies

  • Proficiency in curriculum design, standards alignment, and assessment development.
  • Deep understanding of state and national standards.
  • Research-informed pedagogical approaches.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • Certification required.
  • Minimum five years of relevant teaching experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and educational technology.

Preferred Experience:

  • Track record of student achievement and curriculum development.
  • Experience designing assessments and professional development.
  • Leadership experience managing teams or projects.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting for extended periods.
  • Lifting up to 20 pounds.
  • Travel for meetings, observations, and conferences.

What We Offer:

Salary typically ranges from $81,800 to $95,800, commensurate with experience.
