Curriculum Manager

Mission:

The mission of the Programing & Software Development Career and Technical Education (CTE) Curriculum Manager is to manage and support the successful implementation of the CTE curriculum at IDEA Public Schools. The Curriculum Manager will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive, research-based, standards-aligned, and user-friendly curriculum. The Curriculum Manager will execute a curriculum implementation support system to drive teacher effectiveness and student success. The Curriculum Manager will support, monitor, and evaluate curriculum implementation by: conducting site visits; providing feedback related to the delivery of the curriculum to relevant stakeholders; designing and facilitating professional development; seeking feedback on the curriculum; and reporting on student progress and achievement.

Location:

This is a full-time position based in Texas with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or who are willing to relocate.

Travel Expectations:

While this is a remote position, there will be in-person meetings and events. Traveling to visit campuses will also be an expectation in this role. Candidates may be required to travel up to 30% during the busiest times of the year.

What You’ll Do – Accountabilities:

Essential Duties:

  • Create, revise, and refine a suite of curriculum products, including scope and sequences and instructional resources to achieve student achievement goals.
  • Design and post complete curriculum materials according to deadlines.
  • Align instructional materials to state/national standards, creating scope and sequence, and ensuring clear articulation between the program and required course content.
  • Create instructional products including teacher-facing resources and student-facing materials that ensure alignment to standards and provide a rigorous academic experience.
  • Design & develop assessments and supporting documents, upload them to testing platforms, and ensure they meet deadlines.
  • Design, create, and deliver high-quality assessments, and develop tools to analyze assessment data for instructional improvement.
  • Conduct assessment data analyses to inform curricular and instructional decisions.
  • Support, manage, and coach Course Leaders, including recruiting, mentoring, and providing professional development.
  • Lead content or grade level professional development and analyze student achievement data to support curriculum implementation.
  • Conduct campus observations and provide feedback to improve curriculum delivery.
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other teams across the organization.
  • Travel outside the region for site visits and workshops, and conduct campus observations within the region.

Additional Duties:

Knowledge and Skills – Competencies:

  • Proficiency in curriculum design, understanding of state standards, assessments, and research-based pedagogical approaches.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or higher preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of content area and assessments.
  • Teaching experience of at least five years in relevant content area.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, educational technology, and learning management systems.

Preferred Experience:

  • Proven record of student achievement and curriculum development success.
  • Experience designing assessments and professional development.
  • Leadership experience managing teams or projects related to curriculum development.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods, lift up to 20 pounds, and travel as required.

What We Offer:

Compensation & Benefits: Salaries typically range from $81,800 to $95,800, depending on experience and qualifications, with performance pay eligibility. Benefits include health plans, disability, life insurance, parental benefits, flexible spending, vacation, bonuses, professional development, and a 403(b) plan.
