Southern Crescent Technical College invites applications for an Adj. Instructor, Culinary Arts (Endowment-supported). The role focuses on teaching Culinary Arts with emphasis on lab and classroom instruction, food safety, and real-world kitchen experiences.

The position is part-time, with varied day, evening, or weekend assignments. Candidates should have relevant degrees, ServSafe credentials, and a minimum of three years in professional kitchens, plus willingness to engage in program

Qualifications

Associate degree in Culinary Arts or related field with 30 semester hours in culinary coursework.
ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
Minimum of 3 years of full-time experience in a commercial kitchen or related setting.

Responsibilities

Teach Culinary Arts courses meeting SCTC and state standards.
Develop and deliver lecture and lab-based instruction on food preparation, sanitation, and culinary techniques.
Assist with annual fund-raising events and real-world lab experiences for students.
Supervise students in a kitchen, ensuring food safety compliance.
Participate in curriculum development and program assessment.
Engage in recruitment, retention, and student engagement initiatives.
Attend faculty meetings and maintain instructional records.
