Job summary

Technical College of the Lowcountry's Culinary Institute of the South is seeking a part-time adjunct Culinary instructor to teach our Culinary Arts curriculum. This role involves preparing lesson plans for classroom instruction and developing program syllabi and the semester schedule.

The instructor will evaluate student progress, maintain required reports, stay current with trends and certifications, meet with students and staff, and assist with purchase requests and classroom supplies.

Qualifications

• Must be ServSafe Manager certified.
• Possess an Associate's degree in Culinary Arts from a nationally/regionally accredited college or university.
• Five (5) years of documented/verifiable paid work experience within the past seven (7) years in the Culinary or Baking and Pastry field, with at least one (1) year in a management position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans for classroom instruction.
• Develop the program syllabi and semester schedule.
• Evaluate students' progress in attaining goals and objectives.
• Prepare and maintain all required administrative reports and documentation.
• Maintain knowledge of trends and developments in the field and keep certifications.
• Meet with students, staff and educators to discuss instructional programs and progress.
• Manage and submit purchase requests and maintain classroom supplies.
• Maintain a flexible schedule including lectures, student advisement and registration.
