Job summary

Wake Technical Community College is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach in the Culinary Arts Department. Openings may or may not be available at this time; applicants may be contacted later after qualification review.

Adjunct faculty provide instruction on a part-time, temporary basis at various locations. Responsibilities include instructing classes, keeping accurate records, designing curriculum, staying current with teaching technology, and participating in professional development.

Qualifications

  • Requires an Associate's Degree in the teaching discipline.
  • Unofficial transcripts must be attached with your online application prior to submission or submitted to Human Resources immediately upon completing the application.

Responsibilities

  • Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner
  • Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance
  • Prepares thoroughly for each instructional class period
  • Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment
  • Grades and returns student work in a timely manner
  • Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course
  • Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction
  • Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course
  • Remains up-to-date on technology and methods of teaching with technology
  • Attends professional development opportunities when possible

Job description

Wake Technical Community College is seeking to expand our pool of part-time faculty to teach in the Culinary Arts Department. Openings for these positions may or may not be available at this time; however, after a review of qualifications, applicants may be contacted in the future. Adjunct faculty positions provide quality, effective instruction in assigned courses on a part‑time, temporary basis at various locations.

  • Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner
  • Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance
  • Prepares thoroughly for each instructional class period

  • Knowledge and familiarity with technology and software including, computers, and web-based resources such as Blackboard

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential
Requirements
  • Requires an Associate's Degree in the teaching discipline

Preferences
  • Teaching experience
  • 3 - 5 years of industry experience
