Job summary

Atlantic Health System in Summit, NJ seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide care and life support under physician supervision, supporting patients with cardiopulmonary disorders.

The role requires active NJ license, NBRC RRT, BLS, and 1+ year of respiratory care; experience in critical care and PFT is preferred. Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred; employer offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science in respiratory therapy from an accredited program.
• Bachelor's degree highly preferred.
• At least 1 year of respiratory care experience; critical care preferred.
• Active NJ Respiratory Therapy license; NBRC RRT credential required within 1 year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Life Support to be obtained within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate prescriptions and assess patient condition to determine therapy.
• Administer aerosol medications and position patients to aid breathing.
• Set up and operate ventilators and other respiratory devices.
• Monitor patient responses and adjust therapy parameters.
• Maintain patient charts and ensure equipment safety.
