Job summary

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide care and life support for patients with cardiopulmonary needs under physician supervision. The role includes evaluating gases, administering therapies, operating ventilators, and monitoring responses.

Requires NJ license and NBRC RRT credential within 1 year, BLS, and ALS within 12 months. EPIC charting experience is highly preferred and a strong patient education focus is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science degree in respiratory therapy required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Active NJ respiratory therapy license required; NBRC RRT credential within 12 months.
• Basic Life Support certification required; Advanced Life Support expected to obtain within 12 months.
• EPIC charting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate prescriptions and arterial blood gases to determine therapy needs.
• Administer aerosol medications and position patients to aid breathing.
• Set up and operate ventilators and gas delivery systems per physician orders.
• Monitor treatment parameters and patient responses.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and pulmonary function tests as directed.
• Maintain patient charts and inspect equipment for safety and efficiency.
• Educate patients and healthcare staff on respiratory care procedures.
