Job summary

Atlantic Health System seeks a Respiratory Therapist to deliver cardiopulmonary care under physician supervision. Responsibilities include evaluating prescriptions, performing ABG, and administering aerosol therapies.

You will operate ventilators and monitor patient responses, providing education and support to patients with chronic lung conditions. Requirements include an AS in Respiratory Therapy, NJ license, and BLS; Bachelor's degree is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in respiratory therapy required.
• RN/RT credentials not specified; active NJ license required.
• BLS required; ALS expected within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate prescriptions and arterial blood gases to determine therapy needs.
• Administer aerosol medications and assist breathing.
• Set up and operate ventilation and gas delivery equipment.
• Monitor patient responses and adjust therapy as ordered.
• Perform pulmonary function tests to aid diagnosis.
• Provide patient education on respiratory care and chronic disease management.
