Job summary

Atlantic Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care and life support under physician supervision. You will evaluate prescriptions, measure arterial blood gases, and administer aerosol medications while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

You will operate ventilators and related equipment, monitor responses, perform PFTs, educate patients, and collaborate with physicians. AAS in RT is required, BS preferred; NJ license, NBRC RRT, and BLS are required or soon-to-be; 1+

Qualifications

• Associate of Science degree from an accredited respiratory therapist program is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates prescription, measures arterial blood gases, and assesses patient condition to determine therapy requirements.
• Renders aerosol medications and treatments and positions patients to aid breathing.
• Sets up and operates ventilators and therapeutic gas equipment to support respiration and oxygen supply.
• Monitors patient responses to therapy including vital signs and ABG changes.
• Performs pulmonary function tests to assist physician diagnosis.
