Job summary

Atlantic Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care and life support under physician supervision in a hospital setting. The role involves evaluating prescriptions, administering aerosol therapies, ventilator management, and pulmonary function testing, with a focus on patient safety and accurate charting.

The ideal candidate will hold an AS in Respiratory Therapy, be active in NJ, and possess BLS; NBRC-credentialed RT within one year is required.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science degree in respiratory therapy required.
• RRT credential and NJ license required within 1 year of employment.
• Current BLS certification; ALS expected within 12 months.
• 1+ year in respiratory care; ICU/CCU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates prescriptions, monitors patient condition and determines treatment needs.
• Renders aerosol medications and assists in breathing and airway clearance.
• Operates ventilators and related devices to support respiration.
• Performs pulmonary function tests for medical assessment.
• Maintains patient charts and ensures equipment safety and functionality.
• Provides patient education and consults with physicians on adverse reactions.
