Job summary

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide life-supporting care under physician supervision in Morristown, NJ. You will evaluate prescriptions, administer inhalation therapies, operate ventilators, monitor patient responses, and perform pulmonary function testing to aid diagnosis and treatment.

Requires an AS degree in respiratory therapy, NJ license, RRT credential, and BLS/ALS.

Qualifications

Associate degree in respiratory therapy is required.
Bachelor's degree is highly preferred.
RRT credential is required.
NJ license to practice respiratory therapy is required.
Advanced and Basic Life Support certifications are required.

Responsibilities

Evaluate prescriptions, monitor ABGs, assess patient condition for therapy duration.
Administer inhalation therapies and position patients to aid breathing.
Determine optimal administration methods compatible with physician orders.
Set up and operate ventilators and aerosol/oxygen equipment.
Monitor treatment parameters and patient responses, adjust as needed.
Perform pulmonary function tests to assist diagnosis and care.
Maintain patient charts and ensure equipment safety; coordinate repairs.
Educate patients and families about respiratory care and disease management.
Assist in theory demonstrations and training for staff and trainees.
