Bowery Residents' Committee, Inc. is seeking a Community Technician to provide hands-on support and crisis-responsive presence on a 24/7 program.

This full-time role requires compassionate judgment and the ability to work calmly under pressure while maintaining professional boundaries. The position offers comprehensive training, certifications (CPR/First Aid, Narcan, Fire Safety Guard), tuition assistance, and a clear path to leadership within a mission-driven team serving individuals

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain professional boundaries.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds.
• Engage residents using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques.
• Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally.
• Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan – training provided).
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
• Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep.
