Bowery Residents' Committee, Inc. seeks a compassionate Community Technician to provide frontline support for individuals experiencing homelessness in a 24/7 program in New York City.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed care, de-escalation, and crisis response. No prior shelter experience is required; training and certifications are provided. Full-time schedule includes mornings, evenings, and overnight shifts with mandatory overtime.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Basic computer proficiency for documentation and communication.
• Willingness to obtain necessary certifications and training.

Responsabilités

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through rounds and monitoring.
• Engage residents using trauma-informed approaches and de-escalation techniques.
• Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises in a professional manner.
• Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan training provided).
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
• Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep.
