Bowery Residents' Committee, Inc. seeks a Community Technician to provide hands-on, frontline support to individuals experiencing homelessness. You will help maintain safety, assist residents, and respond to crises with empathy and professional boundaries.

This full-time role covers 37.5 hours per week with a 24/7 program and mandatory overtime, offering training, career development, and benefits to support staff wellbeing and growth within a mission-driven team.

Qualifikationen

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain professional boundaries.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications.

Aufgaben

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds.
• Engage residents using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques.
• Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally.
• Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan – training provided).
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
• Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep.
