Job summary

BRC is seeking a Community Technician to serve individuals experiencing homelessness, providing a steady, trusted presence during shifts. This frontline role emphasizes trauma-informed care, de-escalation, and crisis response.

You’ll work full-time, 37.5 hours per week, with a 24/7 program and mandatory overtime. Benefits start Day One, including health and dental insurance, vacation time, holidays, and a 403(b) plan, plus training and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Strong communication and basic computer skills.
• Ability to stay calm and set professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds.
• Engage residents using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques.
• Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally.
• Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan – training provided).
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
• Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep.
