Job summary

BRC is seeking a Community Technician to provide frontline support for individuals experiencing homelessness, including crisis response, monitoring, and resource navigation. The role emphasizes empathy, professionalism, and strong judgment on every shift.

Required are a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and a willingness to obtain necessary certifications. Training is provided, with opportunities for growth within the organization.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain professional boundaries.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds.
• Engage residents using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques.
• Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally.
• Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan – training provided)
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes)
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance
• Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep
