Job summary

BRC is seeking a Community Technician to provide frontline, trauma-informed support to individuals experiencing homelessness. This full-time role emphasizes safety, crisis response, and compassionate care, with opportunities for growth into case management and leadership.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and strong communication skills. Overtime and varied shifts are part of the schedule, with health benefits and tuition assistance offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency expected.
• Ability to stay calm and maintain professional boundaries in crises.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications (CPR/First Aid, Narcan, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds.
• Engage residents using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques.
• Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally.
• Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan – training provided).
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
• Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep.
