Job summary

Gather Federal Credit Union in Hawaii seeks a Collections Associate to support delinquency management under the Loan Control Supervisor. You will contact members by phone, mail, or in person to understand delinquency reasons and help develop plans to bring accounts current.

This role involves skip tracing, charge-off referrals, and coordinating with the estate process for deceased accounts. You will assist with recordkeeping, processing payments, and handling past due notices while ensuring

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited college or university; or an Associates degree from an accredited college in Business, Accounting, or related field plus one year of collections and/or credit granting experience in a financial institution; or High School graduate plus two years of collections and/or credit granting experience in a financial institution; or Gather FCU employee with at least one year of Member Experience.

Responsibilities

• Contact members by telephone, letter, or in person to determine delinquency reasons and help develop plans to bring accounts current.
• Complete Extension/Workout/TDR and assist/counsels members in trouble.
• Perform skip tracing techniques to locate members and update contact information.
• Maintain accurate records to support collection efforts and assist supervisor with deceased accounts and estate processes.
• Post payments and handle payments over the phone; authorize override requests when posting to delinquent accounts.
• Assist with repossession processes, including logging, paperwork, and coordinating with dealers.
• Initiate and transmit past due notices promptly after due dates and manage disputes and adverse actions.
