Job summary

Teachers Federal Credit Union is seeking a delinquency specialist to initiate contact with members and collect on outstanding loans. You will handle calls, visits, and correspondence while maintaining accurate financial records and pursuing repayment options.

The role requires experience in debt collection, strong communication, and knowledge of applicable regulations. Compensation includes a discretionary bonus program and benefits, with a Tuesday–Saturday schedule in a full-time capacity.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or four years of directly related experience required.
• Minimum four years of related experience required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Collect outstanding balances on loans to minimize losses and review activity reports.
• Engage with members to understand delinquency and discuss repayment options.
• Perform skip-tracing to locate members and update loan statuses.
• Document all pertinent information and communicate loan status to members.
• Notify members about loan payments and potential outcomes of non-payment.
• Restrict accounts for automatic withdrawals when needed and manage lines of credit.
• Review loss mitigation options with members and refer hardship cases to management.
• Recommend collateral for repossession and coordinate with agencies or attorneys.
• Stay current on state and federal guidelines and participate in training.
• Suggest policy and procedure improvements and ensure compliance.
